Holy Ground, Soul and Spirit in Old Age

Janice Springer guides this small group in an exploration of the questions that arise with age.

Starting with the assumption that old age is Holy Ground, we will take a soulful look at our experience of ageing. We are very aware of how our bodies are ageing, so we’ll use this time to look at what’s happening with our souls in this stage of our lives.

We will explore questions like these:

How do you feel about the life you’ve lived so far?

What is the legacy you offer your family/friends?

What surprises have you found in this stage of life?

When have you experienced God’s presence? God’s absence?

For elders: How has ageing been for you an experience of

standing on Holy Ground?

For younger people: What are your expectations of growing

old? Are your expectations different than your hopes?

We will meet at church in the courtyard, so bring whatever you need to be comfortable (a sweater, sun hat, bug spray, water bottle, coffee or tea, etc.) We will wear masks and practice social distancing.

It would be helpful if you bring a lawn chair and paper and pen, though we’ll have some of those available if needed The building will be open for restrooms and in case of inclement weather. Speakers will have a microphone. Please stay home if you feel ill.

We’ll meet Saturday, June 26, 1-4 p.m. and Sunday, June 27, 1-4 p.m.
