Here at University Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, we proclaim a gospel that is progressive, inclusive and inspired by the never-ending love of God. We are an Open and Affirming congregation which means we embrace and affirm the ministry of everyone no matter their race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability/ability, age, or any other factor. We welcomed Pastor John Lund as our new Senior Pastor in May 2023.

Holy Week at UCC

This week we invite you to walk with us through the last days and hours of Jesus life, as well as the surprise of the empty tomb on Easter morning. On Palm Sunday we will remember Jesus planned a deliberate public protest of practices and policies that were oppressive, punitive and dehumanizing to many common people of Jerusalem and especially the surrounding areas.  On Maundy Thursday we join Jesus in the upper room to remember and celebrate God’s deep love and grace for all people and continued deliverance from the oppressive forces of our lives.  On Good Friday we will hear the painful and ancient story of crucifixion and remember the vision and love that was given freely at great risk and cost.  Finally, we move to Easter morning and remember that the powers of evil, destruction, and even death do not have the final word in the world, and that God’s deep love penetrates and persists the most broken places of our lives and world.  These are the ancient stories that still speak to our own despair and hopes for our lives.

Land Acknowledgement

We are proud to use this Land Acknowledgement as part of every worship service:

UCC Missoula acknowledges that we gather on the aboriginal territories of the Salish and Kalispell Peoples. We honor the path that they have always shown us in caring for this place for generations to come.
