Deep Courage

March 10, 2022

Pastor Jennifer writes: There is nothing like watching a six year-old scamper up the side of hill that is taking every bit of your personal fortitude to ascend.

I’m a little embarrassed to admit this, but up until last Sunday, I’d never hiked the “M” trail. Honestly, those switchbacks look awfully steep from the bottom of Mount Sentinel, and I was afraid of having a very awkward dance with gravity on the way up or down.

When I was in the midst of gutting out the ascent, a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt came to mind. “You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” This week, we’ll look at Courage as a Spiritual Practice, realizing that courage in small things (like climbing a trail that EVERY OTHER MISSOULIAN has ever done, often as a warm-up to a “real” hike) can lead to courage in larger endeavors. Please join us in person or online at 10 a.m.

Holy Week Schedule Holy Week starts NEXT SUNDAY. Please invite friends and family to join us for Holy Week activities.
