Is your cup empty? Full? Overflowing? Lukewarm? Cracked or chipped? Totally lost? This week’s worship theme is “The Cup of Our Life,” inspired by the book by Joyce Rupp. Grab a cup of your favorite morning beverage and join us for online worship at 10 on Sunday (Or any time after that--once the service broadcasts on Sunday, it’s available anytime.)
I am reminded of the old gospel song, “Fill My Cup, Lord,” produced by Bill Gaither. A cup of coffee is good, a cup of kindness is wonderful, a cup of love is beautiful, but a cup filled up by the Spirit is everlasting—even when we forget that’s true. A growing field of research says that prayer, having a spiritual life, and participating in a community of faith can be good for not only our spirits, but our bodies and our minds. I hope this Sunday fills your cup, but don’t wait. Take a moment to refill your cup right now with a breath, a prayer, a call to a friend, a little bit of music, a glance towards the mountains or the lake.
Peace be with you,
Laura
